President Bush is expected to appoint Qwest chairman and chief
executive Ed Mueller chairman of the National Security
Telecommunications Advisory Committee, the company said Tuesday.
Former Qwest chairman and chief executive Joe Nacchio chaired
the committee while at Qwest, but lost the position in 2002,
when he was ousted from Qwest amid an accounting scandal.
The NSTAC advises the president on issues related to the
nation's communications infrastructure with a focus on national
security and emergency preparedness.
