Four Qwest executives to join merged company

Four Qwest senior executives will remain in similar roles after the company merges with CenturyLink, according to a regulatory filing.

The combined company's senior management team will feature eight CenturyLink executives, including chief executive Glen Post.

Joining the leadership team from Denver-based Qwest will be: Stephanie Comfort, executive vice president of corporate strategy and development; Steve Davis, senior vice president of public policy and government relations; Girish Varma, senior vice president of IT services; and Chris Ancell, president of the business markets group.

CenturyLink announced plans in April to acquire Qwest for about $22 billion in stock and assumed debt.

The combined company will be based at CenturyLink's headquarters in Monroe, La., though Ancell's business markets group will remain in Denver. The deal, which requires regulatory and shareholder approval, is expected to close by April.
